Bushnell Pro x7 Review | Is It a Game Changer?

Updated on November 3, 2020 by Michael Sparks Leave a Comment

Back in the days, Bushnell was the gold standard for a rangefinder for tours. But a couple of brands took over with their tech innovations. But in 2014 Bushnell got back the throne with their Excalibur, the Jolt technology.

Let’s see what’s so great about it.

Bushnell Pro x7 Review

Bushnell Pro x7

Jolt Technology

When Bushnell started to use Jolt technology in their rangefinders, it appeared as a revolution. Since then, Bushnell is using this technology in its higher-end rangefinders.

With the laser rangefinders, it’s tiresome to narrow down the target in front of any obstacle. Jolt technology can become very handy in this scenario by giving a short vibration. This vibration is a confirmation that the target has been determined.

Besides, the pin seeker technology is also there to help this confirmation process further. So, next time with this high precision rangefinder, leave no doubt about verifying the target.

Slope Technology

Slope consideration is a cutting edge technology that claims its price. That’s why not every rangefinder is equipped with a slope consideration feature. That’s why they can’t compensate for any uphill or downhill banking in the calculation which ultimately results in the faulty calculation.

But Bushnell Pro x7 is equipped with slope consideration. So, it zeroed down the target much precisely. You can get a clear idea of how elevation changes your short makings.

As per USGA regulations, professional golfers can’t use this slope measurement during tournaments. But, in the practice sessions, this feature is widely used by golfers to improve their skills.

Appreciable Accuracy

Bushnell Pro x7 is an improved version of its previous generations. Those have thrived the market and settled a benchmark for accuracy. That’s why whenever someone is searching for a high-end rangefinder, he has some expectations from it, especially in terms of accuracy.

Undoubtedly, Bushnell Pro x7 can prove itself by its accuracy, and can even create a new benchmark. With its pin seeker and Jolt technology, it can give an accurate prediction about the range. It shows jaw-dropping ½ yard accuracy when it’s used within 5 to 125 yards.

Great Range

It’s no use of grabbing the most accurate rangefinder with a shorter range. Whenever accuracy is presumed for a higher range, excellence rejoices. Hence, the range is something that has to be considered as one of the key factors.

Bushnell Pro x7 is a perfect combination of accuracy in shorter or longer distances. This rangefinder can measure 1 mile apart from the target. This the upper limit of its measuring range. This rangefinder is equally effective measuring from 5 yards. It means you can use this one for measuring targets from 5 yards to 1 mile.

The flag distance that you’ll be provided by the rangefinder is 550+ yards. Way beyond the industry standards that roughly range up to 450 yards. So, even if you are a pro-golfer who mastered the skill to drive a golf ball 300 yards Bushnell Pro x7 will work as the perfect rangefinder for you. It’s legit to say that with this rangefinder accuracy is always beyond the mark.

Magnification

Just to have an idea of the superiority of this rangefinder over most of those others, you can take magnification power as a standard. In most cases, this will be limited under 6x. Some of the higher-end ones have 6x magnification.

Ready to be surprised! Bushnell Pro x7 provides 7x magnification. They have used top-notch lenses to create the image of the target in a closer range. You have all the privilege to inspect the target thoroughly and improve the play.

Okay, it has to be admitted that the higher magnification has not been achieved without drawbacks. 6x magnification is achieved in rangefinders that can be operated using one hand, holding the device vertically.

But you have to hold the device at a horizontal position, using two hands. It means you have to put the club down. Yeah, this may slow down the game a bit. This shouldn’t be considered as a glitch, especially, while it’s giving you the most precise view.

ESP2

This device has E.S.P (Extreme Speed Precision) which is a member of the 2nd generation of this technology. That’s why it grabs the target more quickly and processes them fast to display it in the fraction of time required for previous models.

Display

Bushnell Pro x7 bridges the gap between collecting data and showing them clearly to the user by its amazing display. VDT (Vivid Display Technology) is used to enhance the user experience.

Red numberings in the bright display make it easier for the user to pick up the information. There’s an option of a brightness setting that allows users to select from four options. This feature eliminates any hassle of reading digits regardless of the weather conditions.

Battery

The battery is the primary concern for any type of rangefinders. This unit is powered by CR-123, a well-known lithium-ion battery that has proved its reliability over the years.

This mostly available battery eliminates the nightmare of ‘out of stock.’  It’s a wise move from the manufacturer to stick with a regular battery over any fancy one, good for the pocket also!

Premium yet Handy Case

This unit does come with a carry case. You can simply store the device into this case and just relax. This case will prevent it from collecting dust and also gives it a sort of waterproofing. Handy accessories, like this case, are another notable feature of this rangefinder.

Warranty

You get 2 years warranty from the manufacturer. As Bushnell cares about its customers. Bushnell Warranty is something no less than a reliable friend in darkness.

Snags

Probably, you get very little space to complain about this rangefinder. As it has created a buzz in the market recently, some sort of complaints can be heard as well.

Firstly, the size is not something very pleasant. If you’re planning to just shove it into any random housing, it’s probably not the best idea. This unit is designed for those who are passionate about golf and don’t just take the equipment for granted. That’s why you have to carefully handle it’s storing and caring.

Then comes the price. As a higher-end rangefinder, it offers many fantastic features. Sometimes, even, outstand the crowd, as you’ve read previously. That’s why this device claims a price that may be out of the league for a random guy.

Bushnell Pro x7 Review

Bottom Line

This rangefinder is regarded as a product that is reserved for delivering the best output only. This latest innovation has crowned the Bushnell arsenal undoubtedly. With its range, clarity, sharpness, and ability to measure accurately, it’s the one must-have for golf pros or anyone who wants to improve their game.

Bushnell Pro x7 review provides insight into its professional usages. What do you think, isn’t it obvious that apart from being pricey, this rangefinder has all the features that can attract a golf enthusiast heavily?
