How To Use Saybien Golf Range Finder | TR500 Included

Updated on July 9, 2021 by Michael Sparks Leave a Comment

All you need to do is aim at the target and wait for the buzz to ensure that the target is locked. Then, simply press the power button to read the distance on the screen. One of the many reasons Saybien golf rangers are gaining popularity daily is its easy operation despite all the upgraded features and functions.

How To Use Saybien Golf Range Finder

Saybien is a golf range finder brand that manufactures some of the top-tier products in the industry. They mainly manufacture laser range finders, so their how-to tutorial is the same as any other laser range finders on the market. Also, the finders have four modes so let’s look at each of them one by one.

How To Use Saybien Golf Range Finder FI

Normal Mode

Normal mode is the basic or the default mode of all the Saybien golf range finders. It’s mainly used when the object doesn’t have much going around in the background. Also, it’s the quickest way to calculate the distance as you don’t need to do much other than aiming at the object through the eyepiece.

Once you have locked the target, press the power button one time, and the display screen will read the distance to the targeted object. The results sometimes may have errors because of shaky hands, so try to keep a steady hand while aiming.

Scan Mode

Scan mode is a more upgraded version of the normal mode. It’s best for situations when the target has other additional objects behind it. In these cases, it’s normal to be confused if you have the right target or not. So, the scan mode scans the area and informs you when you’ve locked on the shorter target.

You can also use this mode to measure the distance between any two targets: trees, hazards, pins, etc. To do that, aim at the 1st object through the eyepiece. Now, sweep the range finder to the 2nd object while pressing down the power button. Finally, the display screen will show the distance between them.

You can even measure distances between more than two objects at the same time. The procedure is the same, which is aiming and sweeping to the next object. In this case, the screen shows the calculated distance in a continuous way.

Flag mode

Flag mode is similar to the pin sensor mode in usual laser range finders. It is used to calculate the distance of the flag or the pin without picking up any background objects or trees. This is especially helpful if the flag has a wooded area behind it. So, there is no chance of error by calculating wrong distances.

Aim the range finder behind any object behind the flag. Now press down the power button and slowly sweep over the flagstick. And it will automatically lock on the nearest target, which is the flag. Additionally, it also makes a buzzing noise when locked on the flag, so the golfers can rest assure that they got the accurate distance.

Slope Mode

The slope is the most upgraded function of Saybien range finders. It’s used when there’s a need to calculate elevated distance on the course. This mode provides additional information related to the elevation changes and allows you to calculate any angle-compensated distance.

The operating procedure of the slope mode is the same as the flag mode. First, you need to turn on the slope mode. Then aim and sweep over the target while pressing down the power button. It also provides information to adjust club selection. However, you can turn off this mode for it to be tournament legal.
