Solid Titanium Core
The ball gives a quiet clicking sound upon being hit. It’s the solid core formed out of powdered titanium. The powdered titanium forms a cohesive unit to form that solid core.
Solid core and that clicking sound might feel good to a lot of persons and while others prefer the softer version of golf balls like the Kirkland Signature by Costco.
Longer Distance
The Wilson Titanium in comparison with other solid or hard golf balls in the market. It absorbs a lot more of the energy from the club head than the rest of the solid golf balls like the Nike Mojo. This feature makes the ball very desirable, especially among the noobs.
But this sort of balls has never gained much of demand or popularity among the pro or semi-pro golfers. They prefer to go with golf balls that have a much softer core thus absorbs a lot more energy than usual.
So, these are for beginners.
Less Spin
The Wilson Titanium is only a two-layered golf ball. This gives the ball a lot less spin than what you’d experience in a three or four-layered golf ball. Having a ball with too much spin doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s bad for you. Too much of spin will make things hard for you to control.
But the scenario will be a bit different for a pro player. They prefer balls with greater spin, this way they can gracefully land their balls. Apart from that, the important fact is that they have better greenside control.
Covering
The covering’s made out of Surlyn, it’s a form of the ionomer resin. It gives the ball enormous rigidity and durability. But don’t expect it to remain unharmed on a cart path or lawn mowers.
Value for Money
Till now, we’ve pretty much established the fact that this ball is for beginners. And being a beginner, you wouldn’t want to spend so much on just balls. Besides you’d be losing a lot of them to the woods, the ponds, etc.
You’ll be getting 18 balls in around 35 bucks, now that’s what Michael Corleone says, “An offer you can’t refuse”.
Definitely Not for Pros
With the insignificant spin that the ball offers, you’ll never be able to land a hook or slice with this ball, that’s guaranteed. This is like a billboard with a big “NO” on it for the pros. They require balls which can give a spin, they require one that can go way faster and longer than this, the soft ones with covers like Urethane offers just that.
A Few Cons
The balls two-layered, whereas the market’s filled up with three or four-layered balls. Yes, these are cheap but there are balls of similar quality which are cheaper than this.
